The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
Hi friends! I am still around. I am sorry that I have been MIA lately, but my company has seen it fit to block this site, so I can only check it at night and on the weekends. And this week I am having trouble finding time at night because I am preparing for my daughters 5th Birthday this weekend. I can't believe she will be 5!!!!!
On another note, my machine broke last night! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I am not happy! I was making some baby doll clothes for my daughter as a birthday present and it jammed and then it just quit sewing! I guess it is due for maintenance anyway, but I just hate being without my machine.
So there it is, big birthday party coming up...... no machine......when it all calms down, I promise to come back amongst the living. Until then, have a fabulous rest of the week!
I know you guys aren't going to believe this... but I have crawled out from that rock I have been hiding under and I started working on the Pirate gear. Ahhh, the sweet sound of my sewing machine. I didn't realize how much I missed it. I just love the feeling of creating something from a piece of fabric. If my experiment works, I will have wee pirate pants to show you by the end of the weekend.
